TOWN OF MONSON RECEIVES GRANT FOR DOWNTOWN WITH WIFI

Monson, Maine—The Town of Monson has received a $7,000 grant from the Broadband Initiative of the Maine Community Foundation to bring Downtown WIFI to Monson to continue the recent growth. “This grant is going to help with the installation of equipment used to bring free public WIFI to our downtown,” said Daniel Swain, Monson Town Manager. “As Monson continues to see growth and revitalization having something like downtown WIFI will set us apart and make us more of a destination then a rest stop or pass through town.”

The town of Monson is a town in Piscataquis county situated on Route 15 just before Greenville and Moosehead Lake. In 2016 the Libra foundation purchased the former school from the town, along with buildings in the downtown and started a revitalization of Monson that has seen steady growth since. The town leaders and resident are now working to ensure that growth continues through various efforts. For more information, call 207-997-3641.
