Monson Pottery: A teaching and retail venue for functional and sculptural ceramics. Its second floor exhibition space hosts shows by artists with strong connections to Maine. Jemma Gascoine is always on hand to talk about the art work.’

The Gallery: Run by the year-round international arts residency program, Monson Arts and features work by Maine-based artists.

The Historical Museum: Displays examples of work by the nationally renowned Seth Steward, Carl Springhorn and Alan Bray and the internationally renowned photographer Berenice Abbot, as well as examples of wood and slate artifacts that the region is famed for.

Roberta W. Jarvis: Specializes in Oils, acrylics, wildlife, landscapes, furniture restoration, historical interpretation. A local artist you can see Roberta’s work all around town; including the town’s tourist map which is an original creation. (207)997-3244

With the Grain: Where the curious are always welcome. Ed Hoovler makes bespoke wooden bowls. Each bowl begins deep in the forest as he personally chooses each tree. He takes pride in every step of the process. These are works of love as well as art. Call (207)997-3687

J. Wentworth Furniture: Handcrafted custom furniture made by a 3rd generation woodworker, John Wentworth. John’s family owned and operated Moosehead furniture for 60 years. John’s work calls upon traditional Shaker lines and the pieces are shipped worldwide and close to home. You can find him planning out a new design, or lovingly restoring heirloom Moosehead pieces in his workshop on Pleasant St.

Spring Creek BBQ: Has a large and loyal following. The menu changes daily and the food is smoked right on site. Casual and delicious there is something for the entire family. Outdoor dining-Take away meals, picnic fare and market store call for hours 997-7025.

Monson General Store: Is exactly what a small town store should be. It is managed by locals who will make you feel at home as soon as you enter the door. Find local food specialties and crafts as well a gourmet deli. Find your lunch spot under an umbrella overlooking the lake on the patio.

Lake Shore House: A local favorite overlooking the lake. This is where we all go to have a good time. A full menu of pub favorites and the full bar serving Maine beer and more.

The Quarry: The chefs 5 course fixed menu changes weekly. The food is exquisite and each course is a work of art and the service is second to none. You can ensure the chef will stop by and introduce herself, you will not be disappointed.

Turning Page Farm Brewery: A Small Town/Small Batch brewery and goat dairy. Enjoy your beer in the greenhouse tasting room or the beer garden overlooking the goat pastures. The small menu includes beer bratwurst and their own goat cheeses. You will be served by the owners; Tim brews the beer and Joy makes the goat cheese; all on site. Sat-Sun 12-6
